Module 1: Introduction to Informatics and Digital Health
This module provides an introduction to key terms, concepts, and resources related to informatics and digital health in the Canadian context.
Upon completing this module, you will be able to:
- Define the concepts of nursing informatics, health informatics, consumer informatics, and digital health
- Discuss the evolving role of nurses in technologically mediated care across the continuum of care
- Identify examples of information and communication technologies (ICT), specifically those used by nurses
- Identify some of the benefits of ICTs
- Identify the entry-to-practice informatics competencies for registered nurses
- Identify Canada’s professional organizations associated with informatics & digital health
