Work and Process Changes in Light of ICT
While ICT commonly assists nurses to better delivery care to patients, the process or steps needed to complete a specific task (i.e., workflow) can be vastly changed by the introduction of a new technology.
The figure below is what the developers of a computerized provider order entry (CPOE) system (conceptualized the work process of clinicians to be (Cheung et al., 2003).
