Module Two

Information and Knowledge Management

Digital Literacy

Digital Literacy is “the interest, attitude and ability of individuals to appropriately use digital technology and communication tools to access, manage, integrate, analyze and evaluate information, construct new knowledge, create and communicate with others” (British Columbia Ministry of Education, 2018).

With ever-evolving technologies and client access to information through the Internet, nurses should learn the importance of digital literacy.

Digital literacy does not just mean that one knows how to use digital tools; it is also about understanding the implications of digital technology and its impact on nursing and patient care.
