Evaluating Health Information on the Internet
The National Library of Medicine suggests that thinking about the following may give you some ideas about the quality of the information on a website:
- Who runs the site and why have they created it?
- Who is paying for the site?
- Does the site’s information favour the sponsor?
- Where did the information on the site come from?
- Is the information on the site up to date?
- Has the information been reviewed by experts?
