Data → Information → Knowledge → Wisdom Model
Computerized systems have the potential to be effective in supporting quality care provided they meet certain criteria such as providing accurate, coherent, complete, verifiable information and knowledge that is measurable, quantifiable and precise .
In the Nelson Model, wisdom is defined as the appropriate use of knowledge (derived from data and information) and is dependent on the health care professional’s values, experience and knowledge (Nelson & Staggers, 2018).
