ICT can bring a range of benefits to health care practices. Namely, the use of certain ICT has been demonstrated to improve safety related to a variety of clinical tasks like medication administration and clinical documentation.

Some high level benefits of ICT in health care include: the empowerment of clients in managing their health, improved accuracy, speed and record fidelity, and the large scale aggregration of data in health care decision making. (Buntin et al., 2011; King et al., 2014; Kruse & Beane, 2018)
